We had a great stay here. Merrymeet is in such a lovely location. The house was warm and cosy, and everything we needed was provided - towels, bed linen, kitchen had all we needed for self catering for a large group, and the lounge was huge with loads of logs for the burner, and blankets and cushions on the enormous sofas. The dining room table was enormous and a great space for entertaining. Bedrooms all clean and spacious, most with fabulous views. Would recommend.
We rented Merrymeet for 4 nights over the festive period for a new years eve get together & had a brilliant time- the owners very kindly left a Christmas card & some gift bags of goodies for our stay which was a lovely touch. It was a great location for people travelling from north & south, and we found the house to be very private. It was really comfortable for a large group & there are plenty of bathrooms to go around & the living space is excellent for a large group! We did some lovely walks in the area & also booked a meal in the Red Lion pub down the road which was a friendly & cosy local pub. We had a brilliant stay & would definitely recommend for larger groups.
As we were a family party of 10 adults and 2 children celebrating Christmas, this venue was perfect, nestled out in the countryside as it is, with a friendly local pub within walking distance. The Christmas tree was up and decorated nicely along with a few more decorations within the lounge area. The bedrooms were comfortable, clean and pleasantly decorated. Sitting in the lounge, around the log fire was delightful. The kitchen had everything needed to create Christmas dinner etc.

Beautiful cottage, placed in the middle of the country side, on a quiet lane. Rooms are a good size and plenty of bathrooms and showers, for when you need them most! Especially when you have a full house like we did! The house was clean and tidy when we arrived, bedding was made and it has a real country home feeling to it! Some of the local pubs are really nice to visit also!
I spent the weekend here for my stag party. There were 10 of us and there was more than enough room with plenty of space to spare. The location is great if you're looking to get away for a chilled break. The property is amazing with great amenities. The bedrooms are comfortable, the kitchen is a decent size with a large double fridge freezer and the living room is huge and perfect for everyone to hang out in. It's essentially split into two so at times we had some in the "TV area" and others in the "reading area". The games room with table football, ping pong and pool got well utilised too. The outdoor space is decent. Plenty of room for parking (we arrived in 7 cars) and we had BBQs all weekend. The only issues we had were that the broadband wasn't working on arrival but "Matt" very helpfully came out to sort this out (I was impressed that he was on call to come out on a Friday evening). Also the BBQ on site was a mess and luckily we had brought our own to build. Overall we had a great time and the lads were very impressed with the accomodation.
We chose Merrymeet to host our family reunion over Bank Holiday weekend in August. It was the perfect accommodation to host 15 of us and 2 dogs. There was ample space in the living areas and lots of kitchen utensils and equipment to use. Games room was fantastic for kids and adults and communication with person on call was also spot on.
